Your opinions yes or no, and what would happen if they did.
When Benedict Cumberbatch was announced for the Penguins movie, I realized something very important.
Our four main actors are Voice Actors. And there hasn’t been a movie in YEARS with one VA in a main role, let alone four.
The last one I can think of is “The Princess and the Frog” where Jim Cummings played Ray the Cajun Firefly. ((Before you roll your eyes, please note he’s lived in New Orleans for years, is a skilled imitator, and has worked with cajun people on the docks for years. He beat out a few “Named” actors for the role, so it’s big))
But for Penguins, we have
Tom McGrath: who while he’s mostly a director/producer, he’s done a few dreamworks occasional voices and, well, he’s Skipper.
Jeff Bennett: Mr. Smee, the Summerween Trickster, Red Tornado, the Joker, Johnny Bravo… and Kowalski.
John DiMaggio: Bender, Jake, Manly Dan, Aquaman, Marcus Fenix … and Rico.
James Patrick Stuart: Xigbar/Braig, Steve Trevor, Private McGregor, and admittedly a lot of Live Action appearances, but nothing really other than “Dick Roman” on Supernatural and he’s done a lot of background voices on video games. He’s also Private. ((And they’ve missed a GOLDEN opportunity for a Xigbar/Private joke))
The point I’m making is, Dreamworks must have faith in this property because they are not only making it on The Penguins, but most of these people won’t be stopped on the street anytime soon. JPS is the closest, because of his work on “All My Children” and “Supernatural” but even so, they can’t sell it on HIS name.
We need to support it, for the VA’s. To get them work in movies. Because this? Is actually pretty big.

Actually never been to it. I’m still in the fandom, but it’s quiet for me right now. Sorry.
I’ve been talking to Bob Schooley. All DVD releases are don through Dreamworks, not Nickelodeon (which I should have realized due to the clip that opens each DVD) so if we were to work on it, it would be through Dreamworks animation. I just tweeted them but I don’t expect a response.
Other things I don’t know include HOW to talk to them and at least how many of us should.
What I do know is it will require more then us Fanguins to do it.
We’ll need help from Kung Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon. Remind them that they could get commentary too. We’ll need to focus it on a day. Maybe Octber 30th?
And, keep in mind, while it is unlikely to happen, it is always worth a shot.
If you have any ideas, contact me either here or on my personal (haveievermentioned) Maybe we could send physical art or something.
Either way, spread this around, talk to people, and let’s see what could happen!
